Honolulurealestateviews.com’s 10,000th Visitor!
February 5th, 2009 categories: Rants & Riffs
Can I hear a “Hip, Hip, Hooray!” This blog has reached the milestone of a 10,000th visitor. Honolulurealestateviews.com began 9 months ago with the goal to provide readers with my insights on Honolulu’s real estate market. Here are a few random thoughts about the last 9 months.
1. Believe it or not, I think I have become a better writer. To date, I have written 331 blog posts and, I hope, my spelling and grammar has improved. Understand that for most of my life, I would do anything to avoid writing, so I have and had a great deal of room to improve.
2. 9,980 visitors came from organic search engine searches. Many blogs and websites buy visitors via various methods available in print and Internet medias. The company that taught me how to blog, The Real Estate Tomato, teaches that organic searches lend credibility to my blog, as a visitor entered search criteria and my blog came up as the solution.
3. It has made me a better Realtor. Writing forces me to connect the dots between the knowledge and information I have learned after 26 years of selling real estate full time. The process of forming written thoughts organizes the information in a more cogent and useful manner.
4. It has accelerated my acquisition of real estate related information. Since it is my goal to post a blog 4 out of 5 business days each week, I am constantly looking for real estate related information. Before I began blogging, I was very focused on the Honolulu real estate market and now I have a better understanding of the Hawaii State and National markets.
5. A year ago, I was groping to understand how the Internet works. There is a great deal more for me to learn, however, rather than being in the dark, I am now looking at the net through a hazy pair of glasses.
6. The fallacy that I would not have time to write a blog everyday has been shattered. It takes less than a half hour a day to write my blog posts. If you are considering writing a blog it is very doable.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to the visitors of this site.
