Stabilizing Neighbor Islands Will Help Honolulu Real Estate

The Maui News reported that their tourism market would stabilize in 2010. As I have said in the past, it is my perception that the neighbor island real estate and tourism markets have been hit much harder than Oahu’s. However, the outer islands drive much of the perception of Hawaii on a national and international basis, so as they improve I believe that Honolulu’s economy and real estate market will improve too.
“The current downturn in the visitor industry will end and 2010 will be a stabilizing year, members of the Maui Chamber of Commerce were told Monday morning. Speakers predicted a full-scale recovery should be in progress by 2011.”
