Honolulu Vintage Home

If I hadn’t seen it for myself, I would not have believed that red would work for the trim color accent on a home, but this Honolulu vintage home makes it work!  This sample of old Hawaii can be found in Manoa.

I never thought I would see Honolulu ranking well on a list of affordable cities, but Pacific Business News is reporting the following.

Honolulu Property Tax Assessments Are Down

If you own a home or condo in Honolulu, you should have received your tax assessment by the time you are reading this.  If you are like most of my clients, the assessed value of your property down as compared to last year.  At first, this looks like a good thing because you should pay less in taxes because, theoretically, there is less to be taxed.  Pacific Business News had a very interesting take on the reduction.

“So city officials will be forced to choose between cuts to services and increases to tax bills.”

With the tight economy, let’s hope that the City and County of Honolulu can find a way to make up for the shortage without a significant decrease in essential services.

Considering Selling Your Honolulu Property? NOW Is The Time To Get It Listed!

If you are planning on selling your Honolulu home or condo after the first of the year, then right now, today, this moment is the time meet with me to get it listed for sale. Here is why.

1.  Time to prepare. Both of us will have the time to prepare for the marketing effort.  You can tidy up and I can get our marketing materials ready for issuance on Thursday, December 31st, 2009.  This way your property will be available to be found over the long New Years weekend.

2.  You will be put in a position to take advantage of one of stronger up-cycles in our market.  Every January and February we see the number of sales dramatically increase!  Lots of buyers get back in the market after having taken most of November and December off to celebrate the holidays.
